Pe Hollow Wall Spiral Pipe

Hollow-wall spiral wound pipe is a type of pipe made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) through a spiral welding process. Due to its unique molding process, it can produce pipes with diameters up to 3 meters, a feat difficult to achieve with other manufacturing processes. The inherent weldability of HDPE not only ensures the quality of the product molding process but also provides various reliable connection methods, such as electrofusion welding and heat shrink connections. This is also a key reason why leakage is rare. For this reason, this type of pipe possesses unique environmental protection features not found in other pipe materials, offering a highly effective method for addressing current pollution control concerns. It is suitable for buried municipal drainage and buried agricultural drainage systems where the water temperature is below 45℃.

Product Description

Production Equipment and Testing:
We have introduced advanced HDPE hollow-wall spiral wound pipe equipment. The pipe is formed in two steps: A-type or B-type profiles extruded from the extruder die are evenly wound onto a roller die at predetermined positions, while molten PE is simultaneously extruded to fuse the profiles into a whole.

Product performance testing is conducted according to GB/T19472.2-2004 “Buried Polyethylene (PE) Structural Wall Piping Systems Part 2: Polyethylene Spiral Wound Structural Wall Pipes,” and all test results meet the standard requirements. For actual engineering applications, the company has conducted extensive internal testing, including electrofusion engineering applications, high bending strength, high negative pressure resistance, impact (drop) resistance, and flattening limit.
Structure and Manufacturing Process:
Double-wall spiral large-diameter plastic drainage pipe is made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) as raw material. It is spirally wound into a spring-like structure using a special method and then fused together with high-temperature welding rods of the same material under high pressure to form the pipe. The pipe has the characteristics of a spring: it can bend, compress, and stretch, but it cannot be flattened. This is very important for municipal drainage pipes with little internal pressure and relatively high external pressure, because this structure provides the pipe with excellent resistance to external pressure. The welding rod of the welded square tube and the two walls of the square tube form an I-beam-shaped reinforcing structure. This structure is bound by the inner and outer double walls, and its position is relatively stable. The pipe is structurally stable under external pressure, which greatly improves the pipe’s resistance to external loads. The spiral hollow wall structure improves the external pressure resistance of the pipe while reducing the weight of the product.

◆ Toughness, Pressure Resistance, and High Mechanical Strength: The pipe wall utilizes an “I-beam” structure, providing excellent flexibility and overall resistance to external pressure. When used on roads with heavy loads, the product exhibits excellent resistance to settlement.

◆ Reliable Connection and Convenient Construction: Employing electrofusion or heat-shrinkable tape connection technology, construction is quick, connection quality is high, joint strength is strong, and the uniformity of interface materials, structure, and the pipe body itself is ensured. The joint sealing method is reasonable, safe, and reliable.
