HDPE Double-Wall Corrugated Pipe

High-density polyethylene (HDPE) double-wall corrugated pipe, or simply PE corrugated pipe, is a new type of pipe with a ring-shaped outer wall and a smooth inner wall. It was first successfully developed in Germany in the early 1980s. After more than a decade of development and improvement, it has evolved from a single product type to a complete product series. Currently, its production process and application technology are very mature. Production process characteristics: digital, fully centralized control, dual-machine co-extrusion, double-layer diversion, full vacuum belt feeding, random flaring, and one-time molding.

Product Introduction:

Double-wall corrugated pipe is a new type of lightweight pipe made from high-density polyethylene. It features light weight, high pressure resistance, good toughness, fast construction, and long service life. Its superior pipe wall structure design significantly reduces costs compared to other pipe structures. Furthermore, its convenient and reliable connection has led to its widespread application both domestically and internationally, largely replacing concrete and cast iron pipes.

Standards: Products are manufactured according to GB 19472.1-2019 “Buried Polyethylene (PE) Structural Wall Piping Systems”; PE double-wall corrugated pipes are mainly available in ring stiffness grades SN4, SN8, SN10, and SN12.5. The product color is generally black, but can be agreed upon by the supplier and buyer. Pipe inner diameters range from ID200 to ID1200.

Structure and Production Process:
Utilizing CNC technology, the production line is fully automated, minimizing manual labor intensity; extruder temperature control accuracy reaches ±1℃;

By changing the forming tools, a very wide range of pipe specifications can be produced, and mold replacement is convenient;

Cooling, heating, and lubrication systems are all fully automated; low module rotation force prevents stalling;

Vacuum forming ensures stable inner and outer diameter dimensions;

Product wall thickness can be adjusted within a certain range according to user requirements.

Product Advantages:

◆ Strong Resistance to External Pressure: The outer wall features a ring-shaped corrugated structure, enhancing the pipe’s ring stiffness and thus its resistance to soil loads. In this respect, polyethylene (PE) double-wall corrugated pipes have a significant advantage compared to other pipe materials.

◆ Good Wear Resistance and Long Service Life: Under conditions free from sunlight and ultraviolet radiation, the service life of polyethylene (PE) double-wall corrugated pipes can reach over 50 years. Tests in Germany have demonstrated that its wear resistance is even several times higher than that of steel pipes.

◆ Low-Temperature Impact Resistance: The embrittlement temperature of polyethylene (PE) double-wall corrugated pipes is -70℃. Generally, no special protective measures are needed during construction at low temperatures (above -30℃), making winter construction convenient. Polyethylene (PE) double-wall corrugated pipes have excellent impact resistance.

◆ Excellent Chemical Stability: Except for a few strong oxidizing agents, most chemical media do not have a destructive effect on it. The soil, electricity, and acid/alkalinity of the general operating environment will not damage this pipe; it does not breed bacteria or accumulate scale, and its flow area will not decrease with increasing operating time.

◆ Low friction coefficient and high flow rate: Compared to other pipes of the same diameter, polyethylene (PE) double-wall corrugated pipes can handle a larger flow rate. In other words, for the same flow rate requirement, a relatively smaller diameter polyethylene (PE) double-wall corrugated pipe can be used.
